PINK CALCITE WITH PYRITE
Estimation : 20000 - 30000 USD
Résultat : 13 970 USD
While calcite is a common mineral species per se, this is a unique variety of pink calcite, found only once inside a major mine in rural China. The mine continues to produce calcite, though of a different style. This specimen is from a 2009 find, they are sometimes referred to as "pink blankets" for their undulating shape and texture that is unlike other discoveries. The soft pastel pink color, caused by parts per million of manganese, is accented by sharp metallic-golden crystals of pyrite, like sprinkles on a pink cake. This specimen is notable for the elegant aesthetics and composition, the good display size, good edges, whereas most were hacked out of the rock or showed large damages. With a removable custom lucite display base. 28.0 x 23.0 x 10.0 cm (11 x 9 x 3.9in) and 3.8kg.
